Youth Voice Manifesto 2024

Earlier this year HY5! attended the Youth Voice Matters conference where young people from across the country shared their thoughts, experiences, priorities and hopes for the future on education, health, social care and the community.  The manifesto is an opportunity to express the changes they wish to see in the special educational needs and disability system and inspire other young people to get involved in decision making opportunities in their local area.  Get involved.

HY5! Inspiring Change

HY5! members continue to deliver training to raise awareness around special educational needs and disability and inspire change!

Feedback from people that have already attended

‘This has been amazing! I have really liked the activities especially ‘a day in our shoes’.  Amazing experience’.

‘Spending time with amazing young people who know what’s best, taking time out of their day to help us do better as people.’

‘I promise to take everything I have learnt and apply this in life and work. I promise to help others to do better from my own learning, to always listen and support others goals’.

’The training moving forwards will help me communicate better with the young people I work with’.

Send local offer

HY5! has been working with the council to create the new Local Offer website.  The website details information, services and support available for children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and their families.

Testing of the new site will continue and further development will make sure it’s meeting the needs for young people and families. So please take a look and if you have any comments, let us know via the feedback function on the website.
