Sports Leaders Are On The Ball For A Successful Festival
Sporty students showed they’ve got what it takes to be the coaches of tomorrow after running a successful event teaching basketball skills to youngsters.
The Year 7, 8 and 9 Sports Leaders ran the Primary School Basketball Skills Festival at Moseley Park last week. It saw scores of students and staff from local primaries come along to learn more about the sport.
The group led various activities on the day including a full scale warm up of students and staff, along with various basketball skills stations.
Mr Bolton said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our student leaders to demonstrate their interpersonal skills, teamwork, communication and organisational skills. The festival was a success and our leaders led by example throughout the festival. The feedback from staff and primary school children was very positive. They should be proud of their efforts.”
The Sports Leaders will now run a more competitive festival in February, where the primary schools will be competing against each other to be 5v5 Wolverhampton Primary Schools basketball champions.
