Smiles As Neve Is Young Citizen Awards Finalist

A dedicated Year 9 student is celebrating after having her hard work and community spirit recognised at a city-wide awards ceremony.

Neve Francis was highly-commended at the Wolverhampton Young Citizen Awards’ finals last night for demonstrating outstanding qualities of good citizenship and devoting time and energy to helping others and improving the community.

The awards, which were presented at the Civic Centre, aim to recognise young people who make a positive contribution to life in Wolverhampton.

Miss Jones, who nominated Neve  for the award, said: “Neve makes a fantastic contribution to Moseley Park. Her enthusiasm is infectious and she always has a smile on her face.

“She has been a key part of a huge number of fundraising events in school over the last few years, in particular this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning, which raised more than £1200.  It’s a cause very close to Neve’s heart as she beat leukaemia as a child and does a lot of work to raise awareness and money for cancer charities. We are extremely proud of her and she is always a winner for us every day.”
