Sixth Formers Take on NCS Challenge

It was all smiles as sixth form students took on the challenge of a week-long residential visit

The annual trip sees students from Central Sixth complete the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme at Kingswood Colomendy in North Wales.

Pupils from Moseley Park, Heath Park and Coppice and their teachers spent five days at the activity centre in September, where they completed challenges to build their teamworking and communication skills.

Activities included buggy building, climbing and paddleboarding, where students had to complete a number of challenges before bravely jumping into the water and swimming for shore.

Students also had the chance to hone their presentation skills and learn how to make a good impression at interview.

Miss Harris, who led the trip, said: “I couldn’t be prouder of all our students who thoroughly embraced the experience and had a fantastic time. It was lovely to see their confidence grow as the week went on and all the new friendships that were formed will hold them in good stead through their time in sixth form and beyond.”
