Sixth Formers Step In To Help Year 11 Plan For The Future

Coronavirus restrictions have put a stop to lots of annual events so far this year, but sixth form students rolled their sleeves up to make sure Year 11 didn’t miss out on important information about their Post-16 options.

The Head Students rallied around 40 of their Year 12 and 13 peers from both Moseley Park and Heath Park to present information about the subjects available to study  at Central Sixth and talk about what life is like in sixth form.

Central Sixth is a joint venture between Moseley Park and its partner schools Heath Park and Coppice, with students able to attend lessons across all three sites, which increases the number and range of subjects on offer.

All three schools normally host Central Sixth options evenings, but these have been cancelled this year due to the pandemic.

Mr Fitzgerald, who is Head of Sixth Form, said: “The event was fantastic. It caused a real buzz with Year 11 and it was great to see how interested they were and hear them asking questions about Central Sixth. It certainly helped to raise profile of sixth form around the school even further.

“I was very proud of the sixth form for using their initiative and it was wonderful to see them being so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the subjects they study.”
