Sixth Formers Lead The Way With Conservation Project

Sixth form students have rolled up their sleeves to guide primary school youngsters through an afternoon of bug hunting and wildflower planting.

The group of eight visited Stowlawn Primary School last week as part of their Environmental Leaders course.

Sixth formers delivered a short lesson on the importance of pollination before planting flowers and taking pupils on a bug hunt around the grounds of the Green Park Avenue school.

It marked the end of their short course with The Leadership Skills Foundation, which has seen them develop their skills and abilities throughout the last term.

The course is one of several different Enrichment activities offered to students across Central Sixth.

Mr Fitzgerald, Head of Central Sixth, said: “Our students worked really hard on this project and raised the money to fund it themselves. They were wonderful and it was a pleasure to see them work so independently and develop their confidence. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”
