Excellence Academy – Year 7 visit to RAF Cosford
The Year 7 Excellence Academy spent the day at RAF Cosford. The trip involved a Rockets Workshop on the Science of Forces and Motion. Students investigated how wing design can affect the flight of a rocket. This enhanced the students’ understanding of KS3 Physics. The workshop took them beyond the National Curriculum and helped challenge them to develop thinking skills that are required for study at KS4. Students also had the opportunity to explore a variety of hangars at the museum, including the National Cold War Exhibition. Cross-curricular links to Humanities made the day interesting for those students who love History!
Imagine all year 7 students being better at building rockets than a Science teacher … Miss Humpage needs to get practising!
