Excellence Academy lead the way in protecting our community

During our Earth Day assemblies, one of our Excellence Academy students spoke about the importance of tackling climate change and respecting our local environment.
Earth Day is an annual celebration that honours the achievements of the environmental movement and aims to raise awareness of the need to protect the Earth’s natural resources for future generations, in the hope that we won’t have to apologise to our future generations.
Therefore, to commit to local conservation and improvement, on Friday 12th May, our Key Stage 3 Excellence Academy worked alongside the city of Wolverhampton council in a community litter pick.
The students completed the litter pick in close proximity to the school, the surrounding area and the green. Students took the opportunity to speak to a number of the local residents about taking pride in their local area and were thanked for their efforts.
We will be back out in the community to complete more conservation work in the near future.
