Eco Warriors visit Dudley Zoo

During our Earth Day assemblies, one of our Excellence Academy students spoke about the importance of tackling climate change and respecting our local environment. In an attempt to continue our focus on environmental issues, we have signed up to the Plastic Free Schools campaign. This is a program which aims to equip young activists with the tools to create positive, lasting environmental change. It teaches pupils that they should never underestimate the power of their voice and empowers them to help make real changes in their school and community.

Working alongside our Central Sixth students, our eco warriors will be pioneering this change at Moseley Park and were rewarded for their efforts so far this year by attending a Climate Change Workshop at Dudley Zoo.

Eco warrior, Marley Law-Baker said that “the recycling initiatives that the Zoo have in place has given us so many ideas on what we want to see happening within our own school community”.

We are looking forward to seeing the impact that these students make in the coming years!
