Children’s Mental Health Week 2025

Departments are putting activities on this week to promote how their subject helps improve mental health. Activities such as how board games can decrease the risk of an isolated lifestyle and increase brain activity to reduce the risk of cognitive declines like dementia. Students enjoyed activities in Art that can help with anxiety and depression, they engaged with learning how the science behind mental health improved by listening to live music and how mental maths improves brain function. Breathing techniques were shared in Health and Social Care on how to help someone overcome panic attacks, along with a range of activities from our PE department on how to stay fit and healthy. Students have also enjoyed taking part in workshops about, Managing Anxiety with Self-Care, Body image and Self-Esteem.
