Children’s Mental Health Week

This week students have been taking part in activities that can have a positive effect on their Mental Health. Activities such as how board games can decrease the risk of an isolated lifestyle and increase brain activity to reduce the risk of cognitive declines like dementia. Students enjoyed activities in Art that can help with anxiety and depression, they engaged with learning how the science behind mental health improved by listening to live music and how mental maths improves brain function. Breathing techniques were shared in Health and Social Care on how to help someone overcome panic attacks, along with a range of activities from our PE department on how to stay fit and healthy. Our Mental Health Ambassadors also received further training on how to help students with their Mental Health.
