Bilston Virtual Mini Ambassadors

Hi guys,

Hope you are all staying safe. I want to talk to you guys about my youth group: Bilston Youth Ambassadors, we are a team that is responsible for improving Bilston and it’s citizen’s emotional wellbeing for young people. This group is supported by the Coproduction and Youth Engagement Team and it meets once a fortnight on a Friday at 5pm, however due to the pandemic we have resorted to virtual meetings but hope to meet in person soon. This would be an amazing opportunity to meet other young people from Bilston, make friends and develop new skills!

So far, the work we have done is:

  • Contributed to the Youth Engagement Strategy annual report with ‘Vital’ the rapper and produced a rap.
  • A workshop on human rights training on disabilities.
  • Participated in a meeting with the home office to discuss Covid 19 communications to young people Met with WM (West Midlands) police and neighbourhood safety coordinator to discuss issues of safety.
  • Met with local councillors on Friday 5th March 2021.
  • Organised a key workers workshop as part of the councils appreciation day on 5th March We are currently developing campaigns on safe places for young people in Biston and making it a cleaner area for you!

So, come join us every fortnight to get your thoughts across on what we should improve on Bilston. Not only for you but as a community also. The next meeting will be on the 30th April. Hope to see you there.

Are you aged 11-18?
