All Smiles As Sixth Formers Tackle NCS Challenges

Teamwork was the name of the game as more than 80 sixth formers donned their warmest gear for three days of challenges in the great outdoors.

Year 12 students from Moseley Park and Heath Park took part in the games and activities at Chasewater Activity Centre as part of the first week of their National Citizen Service (NCS).

Challenges ranged from archery and tower-building, to firelighting, den-building and orienteering with students being encouraged to work as a team to succeed.

The activity days were part of phase one of NCS, ‘Be Epic’, and will be followed by three days of project work in school this week and students will also plan and take part in a community initiative.

Mr Fitzgerald, Head of Post-16, said: “We had a fantastic couple of days. It was lovely to see the students pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. I couldn’t have been prouder of them.”
