Young poets are celebrating after winning prizes in Moseley Park’s competition to find the best budding bards in Key Stage 3.
More than 100 entries were received for the contest – with students in Year 7 and 8 rising to the challenge of writing a poem on the topic of their choice.
After much deliberation the following students were chosen as the winners:
First Prize – Zinal Patel – ‘The Star’
Joint Second Prize – Nathaniel Rose-Green – ‘Winter’ and Holly Foxall – ‘Being With My Family’
First Prize – Chloe Butler – ‘The Perfect Recipe’
Second Prize – Sean Smith – ‘Tell Them’
Mrs Akande, who organised the competition, said: “We had more than 100 entries, so thank you to all students who entered the competition. Many of you have shown a real flair for writing poetry. Congratulations to the winners; we hope you enjoy spending your vouchers and continue to write poetry.”
