Two talented sixth-form students have taken on the role of joint Head Girls after a hotly-contested selection process.
Staff and students took part in a school-wide election to shortlist candidates for the role of Head Student, before Mrs Holloway and Mrs Bhakta interviewed the final five to determine who secured the role.
Rachel Taiwo and Kiran Madhar were selected and will now represent Moseley Park students. They will be supported by a team of five senior prefects – Ellie Butler, Panashe Muzenda, Amandeep Paul, Jamahl Steadman and Sarah Stokoe.
This year the selection process was done on merit, not gender – with both male and female candidates on the same ballot paper.
Miss Harris, Assistant Leader of Post-16, who organised the selection process, said: “We had seven really strong candidates for the role and they all campaigned very well. It was an incredibly difficult decision to make. Huge congratulations to Rachel and Kiran – I’m looking forward to see how they make the roles their own over the next few months.”
