Moseley Park has been selected to be part of the HeadStart phase three programme. HeadStart is an exciting Big Lottery funded programme to promote and develop young people’s resilience, emotional well-being and positive mental health.
Wolverhampton is one of six areas that, following pilot work in phase one and two, successfully secured funding for phase three to further develop a range of universal and targeted activities in four identified areas in Wolverhampton.
So what does this mean?
HeadStart is working with schools, the community, young people and other services to provide high quality evidence based practice that supports young people in developing their resilience skills to manage life’s challenges.
As part of this, the work HeadStart does is continually evaluated at both a national and local level. For the evaluation to be effective it is vital that HeadStart (both locally and nationally) establishes a baseline of where our young people are currently with their emotional well-being and repeats the process at specific points throughout the five year programme.
Should you have any further questions about the process or the school’s involvement with HeadStart, contact HeadStart on 01902 550851 and ask for the school support team.
