Year 9 footballers are celebrating after starting their season with a convincing 3-0 win in a national competition.
The undefeated league winners began the new year facing a difficult National Cup draw against King Edward VI High School from Stafford.
After a tense opening 20 minutes, team captain Rhys Danks opened the scoring with a penalty kick hit to the keeper’s left. From this point the game was dominated by a fired-up Moseley Park team.
In the latter stages of the first half, Danks struck again with a great first-time effort from the edge of the box.
The second half produced more of the same as Moseley Park dominated throughout and the King Edward’s team looked finished when Diego Marcelo scored the third goal.
The Year 9 team were excellent throughout with Alex Arrowsmith putting in a ‘man of the match’ performance. They will be heading to Stoke for the next round.
